can any one please give me some Raw Diet recipes for my Bull Terrier?
i have a 4 month old bull terrier and she has bad allergies and her coat is starting to fall so i wana try the raw diet i been researching and wana make a change for her, can any one help me out with some good recipes thz.
There is no need for recipes - just approximate ratios!! aim to feed about 70-80% raw meat, 10-15% bones and 10-15% organ. This is not as complicated as it sounds as these amounts are fed over a week or two not every day.
Feed your pup about 2-3% of his projected adult weight from a wide variety of protein sources. My dogs and cats eat chicken, beef, lamb, pork, fish, eggs and kangaroo. I currently have a 4.5 month old SBT pup and she and the rest of her litter were weaned straight onto this diet. Today she had a chicken drumstick for breakfast and will be having kangaroo mince and lamb heart for dinner.
Start slowly with bone in chicken breast or quarters for a few weeks and then add one new thing once or twice a week once you know she is not reacting to anything.

You should really do hard dog food from science diet. it helps the coat so much!
The raw diet shouldnt be for puppies. you should only start that diet at a minimum of 1 year old.

raw meat is exceptionally good for dogs.
But if her coat is falling out, i wouldn’t be researching new diet plans, I’d be taking her to the vet.
Your vet will give you the best advice on dietary needs for dogs. They didn’t spend 8 years studying for nothing.

If your vet has confirmed a food allergy, then you need a complete change from the food you have been feeding. Has your vet talked to you about the BARF diet. That might be what you are thinking of.I use a modified BARF which my husband calls the ARF ( and raw foods). The meat is cooked and I use calcium powder in place of the raw bones. I don’t mind fixing for them, but there are some worthy dry foods out there if you don’t want to do fix fresh. If you choose them, just be sure to avoid the item to which your pet has the allergy.

makes their food
I will second Joh’s response.
If it were me, I would start with nothing but chicken for a good 2 weeks. In fact, I’d probably just go buy whole chickens and cut them up into sections that are approximately the correct meal size. (don’t give all the all the organs in one feeding, that will cause diarrhea, spread it out among all of the meals from that chicken) Or, if you prefer, just go buy a bag of chicken leg quarters.
As Joh said, the amount of food you should feed is about 3% of the dog’s adult ideal body weight.
This will give you a great start. It’s by no means the end, but it will definitely help you determine a possible food allergen. Keep researching, and you can build upon this base.

For your purpose, I would not recommend BARF. No veggies or any other junk – just meat. If you start putting a bunch of other garbage in the food, you are more likely to have an allergen somewhere in there. Feeding only raw chicken for a bit is the king of elimination diets.

I function with these dogs and as far as animal behavior goes, I’m a firm believer in nurture and education. I’ve met Jack Russell Terriers that I would not go around once again, but have for no reason had a poor practical knowledge with an American Staffordshire Terrier. If you’re speaking about their owners- nicely, which is a different story. Humans are animals as well, and we tend to each have our personal strategies about “moral concepts”.
