Tuan Tran ‘s Client Weight Lose of 120 LBS Running 1/2 Mile in Under 4 Mins
Tuan Tran's Client, Don, has lost a total of 120 LBS. Starting at 305 lbs around 5'4 at the age of 42 in 2005, he is now at 185 currently (2008). Here he is knocking out 1/2 a mile less than 4 mins time, something that just 3 years ago would be thought impossible if someone asked him if he could do something like this. Also just this year, Don participated in the 2007 Houston Half Marathon (13.6 MILES) where he finished with an avg. of a 10:45 min mile the whole way. He plans on doing the FULL marathon next year for his next goal. LETS ALL WISH HIM THE BEST OF LUCK ON THE FULL ONE. I hope Don and I have inspired you that it is never too late to make a change of the better.

Thanks! I went three days in a row, and am taking a few days off, I feel slow though.

I would give yourself a break esp in the beg. and then do more as u build up your endurance. Don’t think it’s harder either way but the TM does provide some comfort on the joints so may rec that to start, but TM gets boring after you get above the 3 miles mark so mix it up and enjoy the outdoors.
Hi don, I just …
Hi don, I just started jogging again. Trying to do about a mile a day to start with. Yeah, I think its good to think about all the things that bother you, all of your frustrations, and turn that into positive energy in the form of motivation. Success is the best revenge. Also, do you think it is good to jog every day of the week or should there be a break? And do you find it is harder to run on solid ground then a tredmill because of the science of it, in that you technically do more “work”.
Thanks Kooora, this …
Thanks Kooora, this is Don. Once I got into the routine, I did believe that I could change and I still believe that I can change more. Last year I completed the half marathon and I plan to do the full marathon come Jan. 18th, 2009. Right now, I have never done more than 13 miles, but if I apply the same discipline that Tuan has taught me with my fitness training, I know I can do the full marathon. Good luck to you in achieving your goals. If I can do it, so can you and anyone else. Thanks.

Hello, this is Don. Thanks for the response and that’s a fantastic achievement. Believe it or not, your response is an inspiration as well because I am currently on a 6 month project in Europe and with the traveling and work, I was having trouble getting to the gym today…but now I feel the urge to go realizing that I’m not alone here in Europe. Thanks!!!!

GREAT COMMENT! …
GREAT COMMENT! Myofascial Release is the technique that uses non-invasive, soft pressure to realign the collagen fibers to return the normal flexibility of the fascia, enabling the normal function and strength of the muscles. the form roller is a great tool for various areas (side of leg, calfs, lats, shoulder blades), but deep tissue massages are also good for myofascia adhesions. As for trigger points, tai massages do a great job in opening up trigger points, as well as flexiblity.

Besides exercise, do you have your clients get assessed for myofascia adhesions or trigger points? Getting such problems worked out really makes progress a lot easier (and you look even more of a genius).
